Upper Limb Braces
Upper limb braces are custom-designed devices that support the function, alignment, and stability of the arms, wrists, elbows, and hands. At Biodesign, we work closely with each client to develop orthotic solutions that meet their specific needs—whether it's for injury recovery, neurological conditions, or daily function. Our goal is to enhance mobility, reduce discomfort, and help you regain confidence in your upper limb movement.
1. Shoulder Orthoses
A brace used to help support the shoulder and stabilize the ball and socket joint. Helps to protect the joint from re-injury, reduce pain, limit unwanted movements post surgery or injury. Common diagnosis seen are rotator cuff injury and arthritis.
2. Elbow Orthoses
A brace that supports the elbow. It helps protect the joint, limit movement, or improve strength and function when there’s an injury, weakness, or a medical condition affecting the elbow.
3. Wrist and/or Hand Orthoses (WHO)
A brace that supports the wrist and hand. It helps keep them in the right position, reduces pain, and improves movement or healing after an injury, surgery, or due to a medical condition like carpal tunnel syndrome or arthritis.
